Visualize Your Progress

The sheer number of words and kanji to learn in order to read Japanese can be daunting. However, Read The Kanji keeps records of every word and kanji you come across and uses that data to map your progress across multiple decks and levels. We help you to make sense of how far you’ve come along to give you a good idea how prepared you are when test time comes.

Word Grid

Read The Kanji also gives you a complete listing of all of the quiz words contained in our database for reference. We also use the data we collect to visually show your progress using colors. Ranging from red (lowest) to green (highest), we use colors to show how well you know any given word. We try to coordinate these colors during drilling as well, so you can see your progress in real time. Also, clicking on any of these words will reveal that word’s readings and example sentences.

Kanji Grid

Read The Kanji also maps strengths to individual kanji as well. Also, these kanji can be sorted by JLPT, or reordered by weakest kanji, Heisig index, or even stroke order. Also, each kanji can be clicked in order to reveal all relevant readings, meanings, and example sentences!
