As not every computer is equipped to handle inputting Japanese characters, Read The Kanji is designed with its own custom IME pad that will convert your answer to hiragana as you type. This gives you a speedy way to quickly enter in your answers right away as long as you are at a computer that supports Japanese fonts . Our IME pad also follows the same inputting rules as the ones on most operating systems, so it will be instantly familiar to Japanese typing verterans, and great typing practice for new beginners.

Using our database of over 12,500+ kanji and 7000+ words, we make that information instantly available to you throughout your drilling practice. Just click on the word in question to give yourself a small “hint”, or use one of the built in keyboard hotkeys and do everything directly from the keyboard.
